That said, I've been working on Alfred McCoys 'Politics of Heroin' which is much in line with the anonymous June 3rd comment above i.e. prohibition encourages proliferation. So who is clearing that money if not the Taliban?? How about we start with Pres Karzai's brother and his connections to trafficking?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5840069230333061268.post-464382179276685762009-06-09T13:58:21.964-07:002009-06-09T13:58:21.964-07:00Terrorists and drug dealers love people who think ...Terrorists and drug dealers love people who think like Gretchen Peters. Every one of her arguments is based on the false premise that prohibition diminishes drug use and legalization would increase use. This complete mis-understanding of cause and effect by Ms. Peters and others will ensure that the drugs trade grows bigger, stronger, and richer; and that more and more money will continue to flow into terrorist coffers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5840069230333061268.post-51956355012578325122009-06-03T08:43:43.867-07:002009-06-03T08:43:43.867-07:00"Dexter Filkins: The 'Forever War' In..."Dexter Filkins: The 'Forever War' In Afghanistan" (NPR 2 June 2009), another book on the topic.<br />http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=104802646David Mayedahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02582620428467738331noreply@blogger.com
